The First People’s Principles of Learning have been a truly invaluable resource for me. For one, they’ve helped me to reconsider the true importance of my lessons. It’s easy to get caught up in just teaching the curriculum, and forgetting that there are so many other important things we need to be teaching our students. I feel that the First People’s Principles of Learning are a great reminder of so many of those important elements. Of course, the Principles also serve as a guide for how to teach in an Indigenously inspired way, and to encourage holistic and conscientious learning.
