The BC curriculum is what guides us teachers through the planning process. I will admit I have struggled with our curriculum! I feel paralyzed by possibility when I read through it sometimes, because many of the points are very open-ended. However, I have been getting a lot better and working through it and interpreting the different criteria. The curriculum serves as a good framework not only for what our students are expected to learn in our class, but also so we know what they likely learned the year before, and what they’ll need to know for the next year. It is my main reference when lesson planning!
